1. Information you provide

We process account details such as your email, name, date of birth or age information, username and sign-in information; profile content such as photos, biography, interests and preferences; messages and connection activity; and support, feedback and safety reports you submit. Dating preferences and communications may reveal sensitive information. Only provide information you choose to share and have the right to provide.

If you use a supported third-party sign-in, we receive the account information authorized by that provider. Permissions and available information depend on the provider and your choices.

2. Service, device and payment information

We process connection paths, invitations, vouches, introductions, profile views and feature activity to operate the service. We also process technical information such as IP address, device or browser type, logs, error information and security signals. Cookies, browser storage and similar technologies support sign-in, session management, preferences and service operation.

Stripe handles website payment credentials; Google Play handles Android in-app purchases. We receive transaction references, subscription state and related billing information needed to provide access and support. GrapeVine does not store full payment-card numbers or card security codes. These providers also process information under their own privacy policies.

3. Why we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, display profiles according to available controls, operate discovery and relationship paths, deliver messages and introductions, administer invitations and waitlist access, provide paid features, respond to support, diagnose errors, improve the service, prevent fraud, investigate abuse and comply with legal obligations.

Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, processing is based on providing the requested service, complying with legal obligations, legitimate interests such as security and service improvement where appropriate, or consent where required. You may withdraw consent where it is the basis for processing without affecting prior lawful processing.

4. Visibility to other members

Profile information, photos and relationship context may be visible to other members based on the feature and your settings. Messages are delivered to their intended recipients. Do not assume information you share with another person will remain confidential; that person may retain or copy it. We do not claim that messages are end-to-end encrypted.

5. Service providers and other disclosures

We share information with providers needed to run the service, such as hosting, database and authentication, media storage, payments, transactional messaging and support infrastructure. Access is limited according to the service and purpose. We may disclose information to protect people and the service, investigate fraud or abuse, respond to valid legal process, or comply with legal reporting obligations.

We do not sell personal information. Information may also be disclosed in connection with a lawful business transfer, subject to applicable protections and notice obligations. Our law-enforcement protocols explain how official requests are evaluated.

6. Retention and account deletion

We retain personal information as needed for the service and the purposes in this policy. Retention varies by record type, account status, safety risks, dispute needs and legal obligations. Deletion requests cover your account and associated personal data, subject to limited lawful retention. Copies in backups may persist until they are replaced through the backup cycle; content involving other members may remain in their records.

We may retain limited billing, fraud-prevention, security or safety records when necessary for legal obligations, investigations, disputes or enforcement. We do not promise immediate removal of every copy. Deleting your account does not itself cancel a Google Play subscription; cancel billing through the original provider.

7. Your choices and requests

You can update available profile settings, block or report members, manage supported visibility controls and request account deletion. You can manage permissions in your device or provider settings. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict or object to processing, or complain to a data-protection authority.

Send requests to contact@foafapp.com, preferably from your account email, and describe what you want to do. We may verify ownership before acting. Do not send passwords, card credentials or identity documents through ordinary email. We respond as required by applicable law.

8. Security and international processing

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls and restricted administrative access. No internet service is completely secure. Our providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, applicable legal safeguards govern cross-border transfers.

9. Adults only and child safety

GrapeVine is not intended for anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account or provided personal information, contact contact@foafapp.com or report the account. We investigate and take appropriate steps, including removal and compliance with applicable safety-reporting and preservation obligations.

10. Changes and contact

Updates are published with a revised date. We provide additional notice or obtain consent where required for material changes. For privacy questions, email contact@foafapp.com. GrapeVine is a product of FOAF.
