GrapeVine

THE THEORY

You're six degrees from everyone. We make it visible.

The Six Degrees of Separation idea suggests people are connected through surprisingly short chains. GrapeVine doesn't just believe it — we compute the actual paths and turn them into introductions.

Where the theory comes from

Stanley Milgram's 1967 experiments showed letters could reach a stranger through an average of just a few intermediaries. The exact number is debated — but the core insight holds: your network reaches farther than you think, and the paths are real.

Why chains matter in dating

A swipe shows you a stranger. A path shows you how you're already connected — who knows who, who can vouch, and where the introduction should go. Short chains between two people are trust infrastructure waiting to be used.

How GrapeVine uses six degrees

We don't assume a rigid six-step rule. GrapeVine computes the actual paths in your network and shows you exactly what connects you.

  • Visible connection paths with connector context
  • Consent-based introduction requests along the strongest route
  • Path quality scoring that improves with every outcome
