How to vouch
for friends.
A vouch is the strongest signal on GrapeVine. When you vouch for someone, you are telling the network: "I know this person, and I trust them." That also shapes your own connector reputation.
Step-by-step
The vouch process.
Open the profile of someone you truly know
Vouches are meant for real-world trust. Start from a profile you can honestly stand behind, not a stranger you barely recognize.
Tap the Vouch button
When you vouch, you are putting your own connector reputation behind that person and telling the network they are worth routing through.
Add specific context
A short note about how you know them makes introductions warmer, safer, and more explainable for everyone on the path.
Strengthen both sides of the graph
Your friend gets a stronger trust layer, and your own history as a connector becomes more valuable over time.
Best practices
Tips for vouching well.
Only vouch for people you genuinely know
A vouch is a reflection of your judgment. Low-quality vouches weaken your own connector credibility.
Be concrete in your context
"We worked together for two years" is much stronger than "I know them." Specificity helps the graph stay useful.
You can revoke a vouch anytime
If circumstances change, you can withdraw your vouch in Settings. Clean reversibility is part of keeping the network honest.
Connector rewards start with honest signals
The cleanest introductions strengthen your connector reputation and make the network more trustworthy for everyone.
