Vouching System

Vouch
requirements.

Vouches change the quality of the graph, so GrapeVine treats them seriously. Here is what makes a vouch credible on GrapeVine.

Prerequisites

Before you can vouch.

A current, credible profile

GrapeVine works best when your profile has a real photo, a specific bio, and enough context for other people to trust your judgment.

A real relationship to the person

Only vouch if you genuinely know them well enough to stand behind an introduction in real life.

Good standing

Accounts with active flags, recent abuse reports, or suspicious behavior can lose vouching privileges while we review.

Useful context, not fluff

The best vouches explain how you know someone and why you would actually feel good introducing them.

FAQ

Common questions.

How many people can I vouch for?

GrapeVine can adjust vouching limits over time based on trust quality, abuse prevention, and system health. The goal is signal quality, not volume.

Can I vouch for someone who is not on the platform yet?

Yes. The cleanest path is usually a one-time invite code. Once they join, you can build the trust context from there.

What happens if someone I vouched for gets reported?

Repeated bad outcomes from people you vouched for can weaken your connector reputation. One incident is not the point. Patterns are.

Can I remove a vouch?

Absolutely. Go to your vouches in Settings and withdraw it if the situation changes. Keeping the graph honest matters more than keeping it permanent.
